SCHOOL HEALTH ADVISORY COUNCIL (SHAC)

PUBLIC NOTICE OF MEETING AND AGENDA

The Schulenburg ISD School Health Advisory Council will meet at the date, time, and location listed above. The meeting agenda is as follows:

1. Call to Order

Welcome, attendance, and determination of quorum.

2. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes

Consider approval of the September 9, 2026 SHAC meeting minutes.

3. Membership and Previous Meeting Follow-Up

Membership/officer updates and follow-up on prior discussion items.

4. Campus and District Wellness Updates

Child Nutrition and nutrition promotion; physical education and agriculture education; school health services and screenings; student prevention education and support; safety and emergency preparedness.

5. Wellness Plan and WellSAT Review — Initial Presentation

Presentation and discussion of the updated preliminary WellSAT policy scorecard, proposed Wellness Plan revisions, WellSAT Practice Questions, and triennial assessment planning. No final policy revisions are proposed for adoption at this meeting.

6. Proposed Wellness Plan Review Committee — Discussion and Possible Action

Discuss and consider establishing a committee to review the district Wellness Plan, preliminary WellSAT findings, proposed revisions, and implementation information; consider committee membership, responsibilities, and reporting timeline.

7. Proposed Student Prevention Education Program Options Review Committee — Discussion and Possible Action

Discuss and consider establishing a committee to review possible student education programs for grades 6–12, including dating/family violence prevention, sex trafficking prevention, and human sexuality instruction; also review possible replacements for the current YES programs addressing drugs, alcohol, vaping, and suicide prevention. Consider committee membership, evaluation criteria, and reporting timeline.

8. Parent and Community Input

Opportunity for questions, suggestions, and wellness-related feedback.

9. Recommendations, Action Items, and Future Meetings

Review recommendations, assignments, and upcoming SHAC meeting dates.
